  • Accumulation of Knowledge: Students are prepared for an effective professional and managerial career in a global business environment, and developed with a well-balanced personality, strong business acumen, sensitivity to diverse cultural values amidst the challenges and advancement in the global business.
  • Job Prospects: Accounting is “the language of business” since all business people use it to communicate. It provides excellent career opportunities and a strong foundation for upward, career mobility. Accounting is consistently ranked very high as a growth field with one of the top salaries students can get with an undergraduate degree. More CEOs have undergraduate or graduate degrees in accounting than any other area of study!
  • Exposure to Real Life Business: Students are actively encouraged to participate in activities that take them out of the classroom and expose them to real life challenges, work placements, or dedicated talks. Some of our Accounting students earned high appreciation in the ‘ACCA students challenge competition’ held in Dubai on 25 February 2014.
  • Work Placements: The University works closely with employers to provide internship / work placement opportunities for our accountancy students. Student placements are available in numerous local and multinational companies and public sector organizations, with many placement students offered full-time employment following graduation.
  • Industry Links: Having delivered professional accounting courses for 40 years, we have developed very strong links with local businesses, accountancy practices, the public and third sectors and professional bodies. We work closely with a number of local, national and international organizations to ensure that accountancy graduates leave university in an ‘industry-ready’ frame of mind.
  • Facilities: Our campuses host brand new state-of-the-art computer rooms powered by leading industry software used in accounting professions. These facilities provide an added dimension to your learning as you will experience the dynamic and exciting environment of real-time accounting practices in the classroom.
  • Professional Exemptions: Many of our undergraduate accounting courses offer exemptions from ACCA professional examinations and some exemptions from the professional examinations of other accounting bodies. This is ideal for if you’re looking to pursue further studies at professional and postgraduate level.
  • Accounting Specialists: Our staff is professionally qualified accountants and financial planning professionals who have a wealth of experience in teaching accounting and finance at all levels, including preparation for the examinations of professional accounting bodies.
  • Supporting Professional Development: We regularly host research and ‘continuing professional development’ (CPD) events involving the professional bodies and employers in our campus which is ideal if you’re looking to maintain your knowledge and skills related to your chosen career.

Today, accountants are actively involved in the analysis and interpretation of financial data and work with other executives in decision-making and problem solving activities. As an accounting graduate, you may enter public accounting, private industry or pursue a career in government or not-for-profit organizations. Other accounting careers for you include internal auditing, tax preparation and planning or management accounting. Business valuations including mergers and acquisitions – evaluating candidates for corporate takeover – are growing fields. Another growth area that you might pursue as an accounting graduate is the evaluation of corporate control systems and helping businesses improve their risk management.
