Research Interests/Areas
Dr. Kashef contributes to a pioneering generation of urban design research that investigates the relations between physical, social, historical, and cultural dimensions of city spaces. His research examines the dialectics of form and function as well as the social logic governing the generation of urban space both on macro-and-micro levels. Specific research interests include urban revitalization, waterfront developments, large-scale sustainable urban projects, housing, streetscapes, college campuses, historic preservation, and skyscraper morphology.
