Under the patronage of H.E. Prof. Abdul Rahim Sabouni, Vice Chancellor and CEO of ALHOSN University, ALHOSN University’s Departments of Education and Architectural Engineering organized a lecture by Dr. Mohammed Al Hammadi, from the Center of Research and Security Studies of Abu Dhabi Police, entitled “UAE Cultural History over the Centuries.” The activity was held in the presence of Mr. Abdullah Al Marzouki, Media Director of Sheikh Sultan Cultural and Media Centre, Dr. Mohamad Kashef, Chair of Architectural Engineering Department and several faculty members and university students.
The lecture reviewed the urban history of UAE, from the Stone Age to the Modern era, highlighting the differences that characterized each historical phase of the UAE. The Lecture also highlighted the development of Abu Dhabi Police Department since the establishment of the Police Force till today.
The lecture began with an introduction by Dr. Mohammed Saeed Hasab Al Nabi, Chair of the Education Department, in which he thanked Prof. Sabouni for sponsoring this important event. He also thanked Dr. Al Hammadi for accepting his invitation to discuss the historical development of the UAE with ALHOSN University faculty and students. Dr. Hasab Al Nabi pointed out that this lecture is the fruit of joint cooperation for the second year between the Departments of Education and Architectural Engineering. Vice Chancellor Sabouni commented that Dr. Hammadi reviewed the development of the UAE civilization in an interesting and attractive way. He stressed that the historical and cultural depth of the Emirates is an integral part of the modern reality and unique position of the UAE in the world today. The event was concluded by the presentation of the University crystal logo and a certificate of appreciation from the departments of Education and Architectural Engineering to Dr. Mohammed Al Hammadi, for his invaluable efforts to enrich the cultural aspects of the university students.
Last year, the Departments of Education and Architectural Engineering hosted Dr. Abdul Rahman Makhlouf, a pioneering contributor to the development of Abu Dhabi City.
