Participants at the recently held 2012 edition of NAJAH, the largest education, training and career fair in the Middle East, agreed that the international certification of schools was a key factor in recruitment and networking decisions. Several of them were impressed with the programs offered by Abu Dhabi–based ALHOSN University, which recently earned accreditation from the prestigious Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET), a US accreditor of college and university programs in applied sciences, computing, engineering and technology. ALHOSN is the first private university in Abu Dhabi to receive ABET accreditation for its Civil Engineering program and the only one in the entire UAE to be officially recognized by ABET for its Industrial and Software Engineering programs.
Aside from the international accolade, all of ALHOSN’s 12 undergraduate and 7 graduate programs under the Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, Business, and Engineering and Applied Sciences also enjoy full accreditation from the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. ALHOSN’s philosophy of ‘global knowledge with local vision’ also made a strong impression among potential employers and educational partners attending NAJAH 2012.
“Quality is foremost in mind among employers and educational partners. It is thus very advantageous for our students and our university that we have secured international accreditations from well-reputed organizations such as ABET, which is a testament to the high quality of education we deliver. Moreover, the endorsement of the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research proves that we have complied with the stringent regulatory requirements of the national educational system. Certifications provide our students with a competitive edge as they seek the best professional opportunities available in the job market,” said Prof. Abdul Rahim Sabouni, Vice Chancellor, ALHOSN University.
