On October 23, 2007, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister received at his palace, the first graduates from the “Tomooh” Program which focuses on training and recruiting UAE nationals. Professor Abdul Rahim Sabouni, Vice Chancellor and Dr. Hamdi Sheibani, Provost attended the graduation ceremony. The program, which was conducted on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Sultan and under the sponsorship of his court, was organized in cooperation with ALHOSN University and the Emirates Bank Group.
His Highness Sheikh Sultan praised the role played by the private sector in supporting programs aimed at training and qualifying national cadres, and called upon other private sector institutions to open the way for recruiting and training nationals.
After his speech, his Highness Sheikh Sultan handed certificates to the 72 national graduates who have successfully completed the three month training program, which covered a wide variety of courses targeted at improving skills such as the Arabic language in business, speaking and writing English, computer applications in business administration and creative thinking.
During the ceremony, His Excellency Ahmad Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Director of Sheikh Sultan’s court, commented that the “Tomooh” Program assists in serving the overall national project of developing the nation’s youth as well as accommodating all students from different academic levels. In addition, he assured the continuity of the cooperation with ALHOSN University and the Emirates Bank Group.
Professor Abdul Rahim Sabouni, Vice Chancellor said that 80 students had enrolled in the first “Tomooh” Project, and that the university’s Continuing Education Center (CEC) is working hard to continue to develop the professional skills of the UAE’s youth for tomorrow’s future.
