ACCA (UK) accreditation for the University’s programme in accounting is the first of its kind among all universities in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, 16th
November 2014 – ALHOSN University, the nation’s leading higher education provider based in Abu Dhabi, received accreditation from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) for its accounting programme - the first university in the emirate of Abu Dhabi to gain such an accreditation.
Dr Adel Khelifi, Provost for Academic Affairs at ALHOSN University, stated, “We are pleased to announce that ALHOSN University’s Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting Programme has officially been certified as an ACCA Accredited Programme. This newly acquired accreditation is the latest received by the University, which in the past few years has secured strong ties with several internationally recognized organisations and institutions, the most recent being an extension on ABET accreditations for its engineering programmes.”
Dr.Khelifi further stated, “The ACCA accreditation of our accounting programme is the outcome of the series of visits and meetings held during the last academic year. Additionally, the dedicated efforts taken by the Business Faculty staff, as well as the support of the University management, have been instrumental in transforming our efforts into success and gaining this new ‘first’ for ALHOSN University.”
The ACCA is the global body for professional accountants, aiming to offer business-relevant, first-choice qualifications to people of application, ability and ambition around the world who seek a rewarding career in accountancy, finance and management. In order to gain accreditation for academic programmes, an institution has to undergo rigorous assessment by the ACCA accreditation team, only after which it is granted official ACCA accreditation.
