ALHOSN University organizes competitions & cultural activities to celebrate 38th UAE National Day

Festivities highlight ALHOSN’s commitment to social development and national identity

ALHOSN University, a leading Abu Dhabi-based university dedicated to high-quality, value-based education, recently held a series of cultural events and competitions to celebrate the UAE’s 38th National Day and highlight its commitment to social development.

Both the Male and Female campuses launched contests on drawing and heritage and organized poetry readings, a play, and a children’s dancing and singing presentation. A special Emirati tent (Emirati Khaimah) was set up in each site to create a patriotic atmosphere. A buffet highlighted by a cake with a UAE flag was included in the festivities, while flags, perfumes, chocolates and bracelets were handed out to students, staff, and guests.

“The UAE has achieved much as a nation despite its relatively young age. We always exert extra effort to make National Day a very special occasion for our community to honor the vision of our founding fathers and present rulers. Social development is an integral part of ALHOSN’s overall mission, and we believe that a deep love for country and respect for national identity are foundations for the success of our society. We also acknowledge the contributions of expatriates to socio-economic growth and the loyalty and respect they have shown to the nation,” said Ghada Qabha, Director of Students Affairs, ALHOSN University.

The University awarded special vouchers to the winners of the various competitions. The Male Campus also hired a band to perform Yola dancing. The activities also celebrated ALHOSN’s major social, environmental, technological and educational achievements in 2009 as part of the university’s contributions to national development.
