The Commission for Academic Accreditation’s Visit

On May 17 – 20, 2011, ALHOSN University hosted an external review team who came to campus as part of the University’s application for full accreditation of the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) Program and initial accreditation of the Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) Program.

The team was led by Prof. Thomas Armstrong from the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and included team members, Prof. Said Abdel-Khalik (team chair) from Georgia Institute of Technology, Prof. Kenneth Ball from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and Prof. Robert Cox from Purdue University.

The team spent four days reviewing the civil and mechanical engineering programs, touring the lab, classroom, and library facilities, and meeting with various groups of faculty, staff, and students. Currently, ALHOSN University has eighteen academic programs accredited by the CAA.
