The Dean of Student Affairs arranged a trip for female students to the General Women’s Union to attend a lecture on “Working Women, duties and responsibilities”. The students were accompanied by Dr. Mohamed Saeed Hasab El Naby; Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
The lecture discussed important topics such as: the role of education in highlighting women in taking leading positions in the various sectors in the UAE and the challenges that face women in the workplace. Statistics show that women’s employment doesn’t exceed 24% in the workplace and this percentage needs to be raised.
The talk addressed the changes that occur in the life of the Emiratis in terms of family and employment requirements, as well as the reasons women choose employment whether they were economic, personal or developmental.
In conclusion, it was recommended that it is necessary to promote the concept of women-friendly organizations that provide a comfortable working environment for them to be able to produce effectively and improve their management skills and balance between family and work.
