The Department of Urban Planning is pleased to host international urban design expert Professor Jon Lang who will discuss ways of achieving quality of urban spaces through development controls.
Professor Lang’s books on urban design, Urban Design: the American Experience and Urban Design: a Typology of Procedures and Products, combined with his passionate commitment to the area, have made him one of the leading international figures in his field.
Jon Langis Emeritus Professor of Architecture at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia where he is associated primarily with the Master in Urban Development and Design Program [MUDD]. He received his education in India, South Africa and conducted his postgraduate studies (MRP, PhD) at Cornell University. He taught urban design at the University of Pennsylvania from 1970 to 1990 where he headed the program during the 1980s.
This event is part of the Planning Lecture Series hosted by the Department of Urban Planning at ALHOSN University.
