Al Hosn University recently received a delegation from the Association of Arab Universities. Established in 1964, the AARU is an organisation working within the framework of the Arab League. The objective of the organization is to support and connect universities in the Arab world, to enhance cooperation among them while coordinating their efforts with a view to raising the quality of university and higher education.
The delegation included Professor Sultan Abuorabi Al Adwan, Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities, Professor Mustafa Idris Al Basher, Assistant Secretary, Professor Abdelrahim Mohamed Al Amin, President of Alghurair University and Dr. Manal Ahmed Al Sharairi, Director of the department of international relations at Ryal University for Medical Sciences
The delegation was welcomed by H.E. Prof. Munther Talal Momany Vice Chancellor and CEO of Al Hosn, Dr. Adel Khelifi Provost for Academic Affairs and Dr. Marco Savic Provost for Quality Assurance and Development, as well as Deans and Heads of Department of various faculties of the university. The meeting began with a word of welcome by Prof. Munther Momany who then gave a presentation about ALHOSN University covering the number of students enrolled since its establishment, highlighting that AHU students come from 40 different nationalities and are taught by multinational faculty members from 32 nationalities working as a family in an academic environment and promoting knowledge and quality assurance.
This was followed by an extensive tour of the university and its facilities. Later that evening the group had an opportunity to do some sightseeing with a visit to Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque and a short tour of Abu Dhabi city.
On day two of the visit Professor Sultan Abuorabi Al Adwan honoured Al Hosn Staff and faculty along with VIP guests to an open lecture at the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Lecture titled “Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Arab World” was a wonderful insight into both the history of Arab education, as it currently stands and the challenges it now faces. An interactive question and answer session followed allowing the audience to participate and express their views.
Afterwards a lunch was served at the Chamber where the delegates and members of the audience had an opportunity to mingle and chat. The visit strengthens and enhances the relationship between Al Hosn and the Association.
