The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences organized a seminar on April 16, 2014 conducted by three staff from Drake & Scull International (DSI), titled: “Abu Dhabi 2030…The Engineering Vision”. The speakers pointed out how DSI views sustainability issues in Abu Dhabi Vision 2030.
The seminar started with an introduction by the Mr.Yasir Wafi about DSI. He continued with an overview on new technologies in the construction field (BIM system and system planning). The second presenter, Mr. Simon Carter discussed the various engineering and safety aspects as related to DSI projects and meeting the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 requirements. Finally, Ms. Eman Abaza talked about the DSI Internship Program. The speakers also shared some of their personal experiences when they were young graduates. The seminar was concluded with questions and an open discussion, in which the attending students participated actively.
The speakers were Mr. Simon W.R. Carter – DSI Abu Dhabi Business Management Officer, Mr. Yasir Wafi - DSI Abu Dhabi QHSE Manager and Ms. Eman Abaza - DSI Abu Dhabi Procurement Engineer.
The event took place at the Male Campus Cafeteria and was attended by the Chairman of the board of trustees, HE Khalifa Mohamed Rubaya Al Muhairi, the Vice Chancellor Munther Talal Momany, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences Dr. Mama Chacha, and many Faculty members, Staff and students.
