On March 11th, the Industrial Engineering Student Chapter organized a barbecue picnic for students and faculty at one of the Abu Dhabi Corniche parks. Students, faculty, and their families enjoyed a wonderful afternoon and mouthwatering food beyond “the confines of the classroom.”
Industrial Engineering students and faculty visit EMAL and ESI
The industrial engineering department at ALHOSN University organized two field trips to Emirates Steel Industries (ESI) and EMAL (Emirates Aluminum Company Limited) on the 14th and 28th of March respectively.
During the visit to EMAL, faculty and students met with Mr. Nazar Soofi, project manager, Ms. Shazia from Corporate Affairs, and other engineers who explain the production and manufacturing processes to ALHOSN delegates. After a brief introduction about EMAL’s mission, vision, values, and safety policy and procedures, students toured the plant and saw first-hand EMAL’s Aluminum manufacturing processes. Students gained insights into several IE disciplines such as safety, manufacturing, Quality and production.
A male student delegate visited ESI and toured its plants and learned a great deal about Steel casting, rolling and fabrication. The students met with several engineering representatives such as Safety, Production, and Quality Control.
