In line with the awards of excellence and innovation, upon which the United Arab Emirates is keen the “Tamaiaz” award was launched in 2007, to support the creators and distinguished Emirati students from the final years of public and private universities, as well as fresh graduates.
The award is sponsored by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, an initiative that creates a positive competitive atmosphere among university graduates and students of the final year. More than 1,700 candidates applied to this award since its inception, of whom more than 250 won prizes. The award categories include: media and marketing, design and photography, management and leadership, money and banking, society and the environment, science and technology, business and trade.
The jury of the sixth session for the award has completed its work, by monitoring the final results of the favourite works for each category. The Commission has adopted strict criteria during the arbitration process, and in order to ensure a great deal of neutrality in the assessment, it selected a jury composed of academics, heads of universities, and newspaper editors.
ALHOSN University was the only private university in Abu Dhabi participating in this competition, because it believes in encouraging students to take part in this kind of competitions, and because of its confidence in the students and in their creative abilities.
