The Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS) Honors ALHOSN Professor Hassane Bouzahir

ALHOSN University is delighted to announce that its Professor Dr. Hassane Bouzahir has been honored with TWAS young affiliate membership status for the period 2011-2015.


Prof. Abdul Rahim Sabouni, Vice Chancellor and CEO, ALHOSN University, said, “On behalf of the university, I congratulate Prof. Hassane Bouzahir on this prestigious distinction, which contributes to ALHOSN University’s visibility at the international level. This international status reflects the high caliber of our faculty’s scholarship and scientific undertakings.”

TWAS, the academy of sciences for the developing world, is an autonomous international organization, founded in 1983 in Trieste, Italy, by a distinguished group of scientists from the South under the leadership of the late Nobel laureate Abdus Salam of Pakistan. It was officially launched by the secretary-general of the United Nations in 1985.

Since 2007, each of the five TWAS Regional Offices selects from their region a final list of 10 scientists under the age of 40 with an excellent track record of international publications, then TWAS members from the region are asked to vote for the best 5 that will become TWAS young affiliates for the duration of 5 years.

Professor Hassane Bouzahir received his PhD in Applied Mathematics in 2001. His publications include 2 books and dozens of articles, and he is Associate Editor of 2 international journals and a Member of the American Mathematical Society (AMS) and of IEEE.
