ALHOSN University celebrated World Happy Day last February 11, 2012 by screening the documentary ‘HAPPY.’
Filmed by Academy Award–winning Director Roko Belic, ‘HAPPY’ explores the secrets behind humanity’s most valued emotion. The movie explains that 50 per cent of happiness can be attributed to genetics, while 10 per cent is due to material gains. The remaining 40 per cent is achieved by constantly developing happiness as a skill. Factors underpinning happiness were discussed through the testimonies of people from all over the world as well as renowned researchers in the field of psychology.
Students, faculty and staff commended the documentary for its uplifting message that happiness can be attained simply by working on it.
“The documentary made me appreciate what I have, rather than what I don’t which is the tendency with many people. It has given me a new outlook on life and on how I should relate to the many blessings I have,” said Dr. Al Haj Salim Mustafa, Assistant Professor & Library Director, ALHOSN University.
